What Is Terraria?
Terraria enjoys the appeal of a classic 2D open world adventure game that combines exploration, fighting, and crafting. Imagine Minecraft-meets-Metroidvania; you start with a few basic tools and then dig, build, and fight your way through a colorful pixel world brimming with secrets, monsters, and epic boss battles. Gather resources and craft gear in the daytime while trying to survive through the night when hordes of enemies arrive. The game may take hundreds of hours to complete with all its possibilities, from building magnificent bases to summoning cosmic horrors.
Playing
- Movement: Left/Right arrow keys or A/D to move; Spacebar to jump.
- Action: Left-click attacks and mines; press E for your inventory.
- Hotkey: Numbers 1-9 choose your tools; H drinks a potion; R resets.
- Advanced: Press K if creative mode is enabled.
First harvest wood and stone so that you can build shelter before the sun goes down and monsters start attacking! Then really start crafting weapons and armor for exploring the deeper depths.
Tips & Tricks
- Shelter: Build walls and a bed before anything else-right now, or you won't survive for long against nighttime chaos.
- Boss prep: Before you take on bosses like the Eye of Cthulu, be fully stocked on potions and build an arena with platforms so you can maneuver around.
- Explore down: Valuable ores and loot are down there! Bring your torches and ropes with you.
- Expert/Master Mode: It ups the difficulty but gives rare loot. Consider engaging with strong gear only.
Game Modes
- Normal/Hardmode: Defeat the Wall of Flesh to unlock Hardmode and harder enemies and biomes like The Hallow.
- Expert/Master Mode: Bosses deal more damage but grant unique loot (Queen Slime's mount, for instance).
- Legendary Mode: The most intense mode there is-that's hard to survive even for pros!
