What Is Paper.io 2?

Paper.io 2 is a fast-paced, competitive multiplayer game in which you fight for land on a colorful grid. The objective? To enlarge your domain by drawing a line and enclosing spaces while cleverly maneuvering against opponents who want to do the same. It is very easy to learn but difficult to master due to simple controls and addictive gameplay. Select any crazy skin such as Nyan Cat, Pizza, or even a Teletubby before entering the arena to claim your area-well, keep an eye on those enemy tails!

How to Play

Movement: You move your square around with the mouse (touch controls work if you are on a mobile device).
Claiming territory: By drawing lines, you encircle empty areas-you win if you date that line.
Death: An opposing player touching your tail (the line you are currently drawing) will cost you your territory, and you will respawn.
Hunting: Cut other players' tails to kill them and take over their territory.
Leaderboard: The leaderboard ranks players who hold the greater amount of territory; live tracking is available just for top five contestants.

Useful Tips & Tricks

✅ Play Defensively: Never walk too far from your territory; it is always better to have it close as it discourages your enemy from ambushing you.
✅ Strikes with Intelligence: Targeting slower and distracted players is most probably rewarding to snipe their tail and claim their space.
✅ Risk vs Reward: Small territory claiming is safer, but bigger rewards may come with risky moves.
✅ Time Awareness: Since matches are short, steady expansion is better than reckless grabbing.

History

Developed by Voodoo in 2019 as the sequel to original Paper.io, the game instantly became an exciting hit due to the balance between strategy and chaos. It continues to engage players with its accessibility (playable on a browser without any download!) and crisp design, with each player convinced that they would just play "one more round."
