In Getting Over It, the player is given the control of the character with a pickaxe, swinging it left and right towards the platform and climbing up. The farther you go while collecting gold coins and avoiding a fall, the better you are faring. The mechanics are simple-just click and drag your mouse to swing the pickaxe, but be careful with the rhythm and timing. If you're too fast or hesitate too long, you will find your character toppling back down to the start, so maintaining a good balance is key.
Getting Over It hit the market in April 2020, courtesy of Griffpatch, taking inspiration from the workings of Bennett Foddy. The instances being inspired upon, the game poses its own unique challenges and mechanics. The creator dabbled in giving philosophical or motivational comments while the player would be interacting with the game, adding to the layered depth of gameplay. After beating the game, a player enters Bitlife and can continue their life journey there, thereby making Getting Over It one of the most engaging and thought-provoking games out there.
